Webinar – Surgical Skills and Simulation Training

Surgery plays a vital role in global eye care by addressing a wide range of eye conditions, from cataract to more complex eye diseases and injuries.
A webinar was held by the CEHJ on Friday, 7th June 2024. The session reflected on the recent CEHJ Surgical Skills issue, which shared ways to learn, practice and teach surgical and technical skills, with a focus on simulation training.
The webinar was hosted by Mr Will Dean, Consultant Ophthalmologist at Cheltenham Hospital, UK and Assistant Clinical Professor at the International Centre for Eye Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
The session also featured Fatima Kyari, Associate Professor at the International Centre for Eye Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinical Glaucoma Lead at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital,Nigeria speaking on Glaucoma Simulation Based Surgical Training.
